This is the 1970 World Cup match Schedule with information about the 9th Football World Cup for viewing and printing. The final tournament of the 9th Football World Cup was held from 31th of May to the 21th of June 1970 in Mexico.

Host country Mexico and world champions England have qualified directly, the other 14 places in the final round were decided between 69 teams in the qualifying round. For the first time two teams from Asia and Africa were scheduled.

In the finals, there were 4 groups, then the quarterfinals, the semifinals, a match for 3rd place and of course the final. For the first time in the final match two world champion teams played against each other. Brazil won the 1970 World Cup with 4-1 win against Italy.

To make this possible the matches were held during during the day. +++ As Brazil won the world championship for the third time, they got the World Cup trophy permanently.
