European Football Championship 1992: The final tournament of the 9th European Football Championship took place in Sweden between 10 to 26 June 1992. Sweden was automatically qualified as hosts. Yugoslavia has been taken out of the tournament due to the Balkan conflict, despite previous successful qualifications. Yugoslavia has been replaced by Denmark, which became the European champions in 1992. The EURO 1992 was the last European Championship in which there were eight teams in two groups, this was changed at EURO 1996 in England with 16 teams in four groups.
